The Great AI Rehire And Dual Human Trap Leaders Are Sprinting Into
The Predictable Consequences Of The Choices In The Great AI Deception By The Cult Of The C-Suite
Written by a human, for humans, always.
When you understand human psychophysiology...
Business decisions and their results...
Become predictable.
In February of 2024, I said that the role of the modern CEO was dead and that AI could replace it.
In April of 2026, two years later...
Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, said the same thing.
Now, to be clear...
This is not a testament to how good AI is...
It is a testament to how useless most CEOs are at their job.
They follow the same playbooks over and over again...
Which mostly fail...
Then they do it over and over again...
Believing their successes come from these choices...
When really the success comes from factors completely outside of the choices these CEOs make...
And the choices they do make end up making everything significantly worse...
Especially when we look at the long term.
One of these choices...
Predictable choices...
I called the Great AI Deception in November of 2025.
What happened?
Many companies, at the same time, went through massive layoffs...
All claiming the same thing...
AI was “replacing” humans...
And those humans were no longer needed.
The problem?
It was a complete lie.
At the same time that these C-Suite Executives were all saying this...
Reports were coming in saying that 95% of AI projects had “no” measurable impact on profits.
All that was happening...
Is the same thing that always happens in the Cult of the C-Suite...
Decisions that leaders made failed...
They had to try to save face to keep their jobs...
And they attempted to make their image better in the process.
The result...
They did what they always do when their choices fail...
Initiate a mass layoff.
The only difference was that this time around, they had a convenient “reason” to blame for these layoffs...
“AI Success”...
Which was a known lie.
One that I predicted would come back to bite these executives.
And...
I am right again...
Predictably.
What has happened?
The AI projects are continuing to fail...
And the results have not been getting better...
And C-Suite executives are waking up to the reality...
That AI is not really intelligent...
And that they actually need humans to run AI effectively...
But further...
They need humans to be able to “think” to make AI effective in any sense of the word.
So...
Now, companies are moving to rehire as many people as they can...
The Great AI Rehire.
Here’s the problem...
The C-Suite is going to fail again...
Predictably.
Why?
It is because the C-Suite still absolutely fails to understand human psychophysiology.
So here is what has happened...
And how things are going to end up shaping along the way during the Great AI Rehire.
Let’s start with the consequences of the Great AI Deception.
First...
People are going to be more aware of the failures of the C-Suite Executives who now have to backtrack.
Second...
Executives have lost trust from both shareholders and employees, both current and former.
That loss of trust has and will continue to lead to high levels of resentment.
Third...
It created a greater distrust of AI.
Now people know that “if” AI actually gets to a “real” consistent level...
(Which is still highly debated among people whether that is an inevitable reality or an extreme marketing stunt that will explode the economic bubble)
That they are just going to become laid off again...
Which creates a deterrent among employees from putting real effort into building AI.
Fourth...
In firing employees during a period where burnout has been at an all-time high...
Impacting over 80% of the workforce, with it expected to continue to get worse...
The decision to reduce headcount actually makes this problem “worse”...
Which is a gigantic problem when you consider that we as humans drop to 5% or less of our Productivity Potential in burnout...
That can and frequently does go into Negative Productivity...
And it can take “over” a year for humans to fully recover from burnout.
Now...
That is just looking at the consequences from when the Great AI Deception occurred until now.
Now that C-Suite leaders are making the decision to initiate the Great AI Rehire...
Here are what the consequences will be.
First...
Hiring more people and forcing them into the same building will not reduce burnout.
When you understand human psychophysiology...
You actually discover that putting more people into an environment of Group Burnout...
Just pulls all the newly (re)hired people into burnout faster...
While simultaneously making it more difficult for the organization to escape burnout...
Especially when there are no plans that consider things like...
Neurocardiology...
Memory capsules in the nervous system...
Mitochondrial output...
And more.
These are some of the factors that cause Group Burnout to remain and drag any newcomers into burnout extremely quickly...
While making the overall recovery time needed for the organization to increase.
But there is actually another...
Perhaps equally large...
Dual human trap that leaders are now sprinting into...
That has to do with AI specifically.
For organizations to get any real or impactful use out of AI...
They need humans operating them...
But importantly...
They need humans who are thinking at higher levels, who can redesign and innovate business processes around AI.
That is the problem...
Leaders will not get this out of their workforce.
When we go back to burnout...
Increased burnout leads “directly” to decreased IQ and Emotional Intelligence (EQ/EI).
So...
As long as the humans who are behind the AI are in burnout...
They will psychophysiologically be locked out of being able to innovate effectively in this capacity.
This decreased IQ and EQ/EI will create poor input for the AI...
Which will actually make the AI ineffective in the long term.
The other problem is what I have called the AI Trap that more and more people are falling into...
Where they use AI to think for them...
Which unintentionally leads to their IQ measurably decreasing.
What happens when people who are in extreme burnout...
Need to find solutions quickly...
And they have a resource that claims to accomplish that goal?
They use that solution.
So...
Instead of trying to think for themselves...
Which they are struggling with because they are in burnout...
They turn to AI to think for them...
Which cannot come up with the solutions because they need a human behind them to be innovative...
But, in turning to AI, they will unintentionally decrease their IQ further...
Creating a vicious cycle where the goal will get further and further away...
As AI becomes less effective, the humans behind them simultaneously become less effective.
Welcome to the consequences of the choices in the Great AI Deception in the Cult of the C-Suite.
Now, what you also need to understand in looking at this...
Is that these problems and failures may not be seen “immediately” in the spreadsheets...
Because one of the greatest factors of organizations’ success...
And a large factor in allowing the Cult of the C-Suite to continue unquestioned...
Has to do with Category King/Queen Economics...
Which continues to apply “despite” the poor decisions of leaders.
But...
This is how you will see the failures play out...
The workforce will continue to be in burnout...
There will not be any meaningful or useful innovations or changes in businesses...
For C-Suite executives to maintain their roles, they will still need to increase revenue...
Which will be fueled by things like price increases, shrinkage, separating products to force consumers to buy multiple things, etc...
Or future layoffs...
But not in meaningful changes in the expansion of markets...
And with noticeable loss of consumer goodwill and reputation.
The result...
Is that these businesses will still be “operating”...
Maybe even being the “best” in their industry...
But there will be an uncomfortable undercurrent amidst these companies...
Because they know...
That their entire consumer base is waiting for a different viable solution to appear...
And they will leave for that new solution as soon as it becomes available.
This is exactly how Blockbuster fell to Netflix...
Except perhaps worse...
Because now businesses have not just been damaging their consumer bases...
But also their employee bases at the same time...
Meaning that not only should these businesses be concerned about the loss of their revenue...
But they should also be terrified of losing their entire workforce.
It is already happening in many industries...
Tech has had the largest exodus of talent it has ever seen...
As has healthcare.
The reason is simple...
Psychophysiology.
When you fail to understand how people function...
You will fail.
When you understand how people function...
Things become vastly more predictable...
But the problem for the Cult of the C-Suite...
Is that the problems are predictably terrible.
