Will Never Attain Their Potential.
They will Not Even be "Remotely" Close to Attaining their Potential.
To Understand Why, let me put forth some Realities for You.
Currently, Over 80% of the Workforce is in Burnout.
A Statistic that Has Been Getting Worse, and Will Continue to Get Worse.
I know because I've done Deep Research into Psychophysiology and See Where Businesses and Organizations get Burnout Completely Wrong.
Based on a Plethora of Reasons from Psychology, Neurocardiology, Neurogastroenterology, Neurology, Behavior Design, and More...
Most Businesses Have Been and Continue to Make Horrible Decisions that Make Burnout Significantly Worse.
Decisions that the "AI Use Cases" being Proposed will Never Solve.
But, for now, let's Focus Solely on an Individual's Productivity Potential in Burnout.
Productivity is Barely a Sliver of Potential, but it is a good place to Start to See the Problems.
In Burnout, based on the Scientific Research on Productivity, We as Humans Operate at 5% of Our Productivity Potential.
By that Statistic Alone, we are Underperforming from our Productivity Potential as Individuals by a Factor of 20X.
Daily.
The Only Solution to This?
Comes with Understanding Of and Solving for the Psychophysiological Problems of today's Workplace.
But here is a Secret about Productivity...
Being "More Productive" Does Not Mean Getting "Better Results".
What Do I Mean?
Well, let's take a Look at the Potential of an Idea.
This could be a Business Pitch, an Entrepreneurial Idea, a Future Product, etc.
There is an Old Chinese Adage that says, "The Journey of a Thousand Miles Begins with a Single Step".
It is True...
But Here's What Most People Miss...
If Your Steps are Not On the Right Target...
You Will Miss the Goal.
Let's take the Journey of a Thousand Miles...
But say that You are 1 Single Degree Off for Each Step.
Seems Pretty Insignificant, Right?
Well, a Mile is about 2,000 Steps...
So The Entire Journey is about 2,000,000 Steps.
When you Do that Math of Walking 2,000,000 Steps while Being "Only" 1 Degree Off...
After You've Gone 1,000 Miles of Walking...
You'll Still Be Over 17 Miles Away from your Destination, or Over 34,000 Steps.
It might not seem that Bad...
Except in My Experience with People, they are "Usually" Significantly More than 1 Degree Off from their Goal with their Ideas.
Some of them are 180 Degrees Off...
Which, if that is the Case for You...
Your Journey of a Thousand Miles...
Will become a Journey of 3,000 Miles.
"If" You Stop After 1,000 Miles of Going in the Wrong Direction.
Then, Many People Continually Change Directions with Every Step...
Often, Giving Up "Long" Before They get a Hint of their Potential.
Frequently...
Instead of Going in a Line...
They Go in a Circle of Insanity.
Never Getting Closer to their Goal.
But, when we Look at Potential, there is Another Aspect We Must Further Consider...
There is another Old African Adage that says, "If You Want to Go Fast, Go Alone. If You Want to Go Far, Go Together."
As Humans, We are Interdependent.
We Can "Only" Reach Our Own Potential By Working "With" Others.
If We Go Alone...
We Will "Always" Be Lacking in Our Potential.
Even Down to a Psychophysiological and Cellular Perspective...
We Work Better With Other Humans.
Period.
When it comes to Potential, Adding More People Changes Results Exponentially.
Think of it like This...
1 Person Alone Can Create A Result of 1.
2 People Together Can Create A Result of 4.
3 People Together Can Create A Result of 9.
Sounds Wonderful...
Right?
Well, it "Can" Be...
"If" Everyone is Working Together and Pointed in the Same Direction.
But this is Also Where I See Most People and Organizations Go Completely Wrong.
Some People are Going in One Direction...
Others are Going in a Different Direction...
All of them are Pulling Against Each Other, Not Getting Anywhere.
Then there are often People who are Actively Disengaged, which means they are "Actively" Working Against the Specific Direction Others Want to Go.
Think of Active Disengagement Like This...
You are Walking Down a Hallway with a Long Carpet...
You Keep Taking Steps, But You Are Making No Progress...
Because Someone Behind You is Pulling the Carpet in the Opposite Direction You're Walking.
Which Means You're Not Actually Moving Forward.
If Enough People are Pulling the Carpet, You'll Begin to Move Backward without Realizing It because "You" are Still Walking in the Right Direction.
I have Seen this become "Very" Common in Many Workplaces.
Often for Completely Simple Misunderstandings which are Fairly Easy to Resolve.
But, if You "Fail" to See It...
Or "Fail" to Resolve It...
You'll Never Reach Your Potential...
And Neither Will Anyone Else in the Organization.
Everyone within the Organization will Fail to Reach their Potential.
I have Worked with a Number of Brilliant Entrepreneurs who Left their Previous Organizations "Because" of this Problem.
Entrepreneurs who are Now Thriving.
I have Worked in Organizations where Hundreds of Employees were Misaligned with Each Other, and Frequently Working Against Each Other.
The Result was that, for Years, they had been Stuck in Gridlock within their Organization.
In a Matter of a Few Months, We Changed That...
Even "With" Significant Obstacles to the Pilot Program Design I Laid Out.
Where Leadership Development Programs have an 80% Failure Rate on Average, with "Limited" Success the Remainder.
We Settled Years of Disagreements and Made Real Progress at Breakneck Speeds...
Despite Significant Barriers, such as Frequently Lacking Top Leadership in Meetings and Language Barriers.
When You Have Enough People Aligned Together...
Moving in the Same Direction...
All Working on Improving their Psychophysiology to Attain their Productivity Potential...
You Do Not Need "Everything" to Be Perfect to Gain Tremendous Results.
But Even Then...
That Organization Is Still "Nowhere" Near Their Potential.
This is How I Know The Vast Majority Of People Will Never Reach Their Potential.
Most People Have No Clue what their Own Potential Is.
They have Gone their Entire Lives Not Understanding It.
Not Even Close.
Most People Will Never Get Close To Their Potential...
But You Do Not Need To Be "Most" People.
This Becomes the Incredible Power of Sageship.
If You Embrace It Fully...
You Begin To Learn Your True Potential and How to Begin to Achieve It.
Those Who Seek Sageship Also Cultivate Others!
