People have often asked me...
How have I gotten to where I am today?
There are some parts of it which are clear to most people...
Hard work.
Consistency.
Continuous Growth.
Dedication to the truth.
Getting results.
Things that you will hear just about everyone say.
But there is one thing that I have come to realize that I do...
Which most people do not...
Which has created far more opportunities for me...
Not because of anything special I have or have not done...
But because so few people do it.
What is it?
Ask.
Just ask for the opportunity.
It sounds so simple...
So ridiculous...
Yet it is true.
So many people approach opportunities in one of two ways.
On one hand, many people do not give themselves enough credit for what they can do...
So they “believe” they are not going to get an opportunity...
So they never ask.
On the other hand...
Many people believe that they are so good that opportunity should go to them...
And maybe they are absolutely amazing...
But because they are expecting the opportunity to be handed to them...
They never ask.
In both of these questions...
Opportunities exist around us...
But the vast majority of people just never ask.
What is crazy...
Is if people simply asked for the opportunity...
They would receive many more opportunities.
It is not a 100% guarantee...
But I can tell you from experience...
You will get vastly more opportunities than you thought possible.
I cannot tell you the number of times...
Where I saw an opportunity...
Thought to myself...
There’s no way I’ll get that...
Then said...
But what’s the harm in asking?
Worse case, they will say no and nothing will change.
So I ask...
Then find myself pleasantly surprised when the opportunity is given to me.
Again...
It is not because of anything special that I bring to the table...
Usually I do not even need to give “credentials”...
Even though I am happy to if asked.
The only reason I get it...
Is because I asked...
And others did not.
So many people fail to see...
Just how many opportunities there are...
Right there...
Within their reach...
That they could seize...
If they only asked.
