Where Businesses Consistently Go Wrong In Building Their Plans

This Explains Why So Many Businesses And Teams Fail Dramatically In Attaining Their Goals

When You Set High Goals, you Inevitably have a Lot to Do.

If you're going to Achieve the Goals...

You Need a Plan to get there.

Now, All Plans Inevitably Fail and Adjustments Will Need to be Made.

Even if the Plan is Amazing, it will still Fail.

That's just a part of the Game.

But, as long as you Understand the "Purpose" of a Plan, then that should Not Worry You.

However, there is Another Problem that I Consistently see Go Wrong with Entrepreneurs and Leaders as they are Designing their Plans.

The Problem With Most Plans

Most frequently I see this with Marketing.

However, it happens in All Parts of Business.

Just recently, I was speaking with a Client about their Marketing.

Most of it was Great, yet there was something they were Unsure About...

Followers and Social Engagement.

They began to tell me about their Worries and Fears about How their Social Media Content was Landing and being Unsure about it all.

I saw it in that Moment.

They had gone wrong in their Thinking.

I asked them...

What is the Goal of Your Social Media?

They threw out a few ideas that they came up with top of mind.

Increased Engagement.

More Followers.

Greater Reach.

All Wrong.

So they asked me what they were missing.

Everything That You Do...

Whether it is Social Media, Designing or Improving a Product, Building a Team, or "Any" Other Business Activity...

Has to be Laser-Focused on "One" Thing.

What is that Thing?

Improving the Life of the Customer.

It's that Simple.

The Different Flavors Of The Problem

Where I see People go So "Wrong" with their Plans, So "Frequently", is that their "Plans" Do Not End with the Goal of Improving the Lives of their Customers.

It's one of the Greatest Diseases in Business Today.

There are Plans that are Focused on So Many "Other" things I see all the time.

Likes.

Follows.

Views.

Downloads.

Improved Market Reach.

Sales.

Profit.

Yet, in the Long Term, "None" of these Matter if you Miss the Most Important Goal.

Are Lives Improved?

Not in Theory.

Not just because You "Know" or "Believe" They Will Be.

Are Lives "Truly" Improving?

We see this play out in many different ways.

The Test Of Loyalty

One of the Common Ways?

Loyalty.

Are your Customers Loyal to You?

The "Big" Test of this is Whether they would "Choose" to Stay With You if a "Better" Solution comes Along.

Do You know who thought they had Loyal Customers?

Blockbuster.

Guess What?

When Netflix created a Better Solution?

Blockbuster was Decimated.

How Much did their Profit Margins in the Previous Decade Matter at that Point?

None.

Netflix made people's Lives Better by Creating a Cheaper Alternative that was Easier to Access while avoiding Fees and Hardware Costs.

If Blockbuster's Customers were "Loyal", They would have asked and waited for Blockbuster to Come Out with "Their" Version of Netflix.

But Customers Did Not Wait.

Blockbuster had already Lost Loyalty.

Even when Blockbuster "Did" come out with their own Streaming Service, Blockbuster On Demand, it was Too Late.

They had Lost their Customers "Long" before and were Never going to Recover.

Now, this does not mean Netflix is Perfect by "Any" stretch of the Imagination.

They have their "Own" Problems with Revolving-Door Customers Today...

Problems which their Plans have made "Worse" in terms of making Life "Better" for their Customers.

The Fear This Causes Business Leaders And Entrepreneurs

This is a Problem that "Most" Businesses have today.

It is Why when "Any" Possible Threat Pops Up, Nearly "Every" Business begins to Freak Out and begin to make Awful Decisions.

They "Know" that their Customers are Not Loyal, and "Their" Fate could look "Exactly" like Blockbuster's.

All because their Plans have Lost Sight of What Should have "Always" been the Focus of their Plans.

People.

The Cost Of Missing This

Every Plan that you Make should Lead to "One" Result.

Improving People's Lives.

If you are Unsure of "How" that is Supposed to Happen with Your Plan, then Your Plan is Doomed to Fail before it Begins.

Time.

Money.

Resources.

Will all be "Completely" Wasted in the Process.

The Result Of Thinking Incorrectly About The Plan

When your Plans become Detached from the Humans Involved, it "Dehumanizes" Them.

Instead of being Humans, they become "Profit".

Instead of Humans, they become "Resources".

Instead of Humans, they become "Assets".

Instead of Humans, they become "Employees".

Instead of Humans, they become "Followers"

The "More" that You Dehumanize People, the Less Loyal they become.

The Less Loyal people are, the More Likely You are to Fail.

Maybe Not Immediately.

Today’s Zombie Companies

Most Companies Are Dead "Long" Before They Stop Being "Profitable".

They are Similar to Zombies.

Dead, but Still Requiring Resources to Run.

Draining Humans, and Refusing to Collapse.

But as we see in All Zombie Media...

A Hero Rises, and takes out the Zombie's Head.

All those who were Living in Fear of the Zombies seek out the Hero.

Together, they Create a New World.

In Today's World, I see "Many" Zombie Companies.

Desperate to keep hold of their "Market Shares".

All, while Completely Missing the Point.

Humans.

Now, what is the Solution to Overcoming the Problem of Zombie Businesses?

We can See what “Typically” Happens in Business Today.

Netflix is a Perfect Example.

Did they Defeat the Blockbuster Zombie?

Yes.

However, it seems in the Process, they Got Bit themselves.

What happens when you get Bit by a Zombie?

You “Become” a Zombie.

Netflix is Experiencing this Currently.

They have No Loyalty.

They Defeated the Zombie, only to become the Next Zombie.

So, there are Only “Two” Possibilities to Overcome the Zombie Business Disease.

Either, Someone New comes along and Kills the Zombie…

Or…

You Cure the Zombie Disease.

What is the Cure Called?

Regenerative Legacy Design.
