What Would Happen If We Reduced Our Worries?

Understanding How Consumed We Really Are

Worrying is a Part of Life...

We will Never Get Rid of "All" of It...

But...

How Much of it Really Matters?

Could We Get Rid of a Good Chunk of It?

And if so...

What would Become Possible?

To Understand How to Answer these Questions, We Must First Look at How Consumed We are with Worry.

I recently read that the Average Person spends Over 2 Hours in Worry...

But that is the "Average" Person.

The same research said that Nearly 50% of Individuals are in a "Constant" State of Worry.

It also said that the Majority of People Worry the Most in Three Circumstances...

When Alone...

When Trying to Fall Asleep...

When Waking Up.

Now, what is Interesting about these is that When We Worry During these Times...

We actually Create Exponential Stressors.

What Do I Mean By This?

All Three of these Situations, for the Majority of People, are Inherent Stressors.

Loneliness is a Gigantic Epidemic in Today's World.

The Lack of Sleep Causes So Many Health Problems.

And Waking Up is Where, Usually, Our Highest Levels of Cortisol Exist...

Not to Mention that for Many People, they Do Not Wake Up Naturally, and therefore Resort to "Shocking" Themselves Awake via Alarms.

So, Naturally, these are All Already Stressful Periods of Time...

But when You Add Worry?

It Becomes Exponentially Worse because Our Brains are Primed for Worrying "More" in All of these Situations.

It has the Effect of Creating a Vicious Cycle where Stressors Cause Problems, that cause Us to Worry, that Create Worse Stressors, that Cause More Problems.

This is a Part of the Reason Why Burnout has Become So Rampant, Impacting 80% of the Workforce.

When Nearly 50% of People are in "Constant" States of Worry that Causes Exponential Stressors...

It Causes Real Issues to Our Health and Ability to Function.

On Top of This...

Worrying Puts Us into Sympathetic States, which Directly Conflicts with Flow States and Blocks Us from Our Potential.

Plus, Worrying Itself is Already So Problematic.

Why?

Most of What We Worry About...

Never Happens.

It has been Estimated that 85% - 95% of What We Worry About Never Occurs...

So, We Worry...

And are Creating Situations that Never Occur...

Fueled Further by the Stressors We Already Have.

But the Worrying Statistics are Still More Interesting...

Because within the 5% - 15% of Time when what We Worry About "Does" Occur...

People Find that around 80% of the Time...

It was Easier to Handle than they Worried About...

And...

It Often "Also" Became a Growing Opportunity.

This means that 97% - 99% of the Time...

What We Worry About is Either Not a Problem at All to Overcome, or Never Happens.

That is the Reality About What We Worry About.

So...

Let's Take this Back to the Beginning...

Can We Remove "All" Worry?

Of Course Not...

But...

What if We Reduced Just Half of Our Worry?

We Could Even Take the Average without Worrying about what "Constant" State of Worry Means.

If We are in Worry...

And Also in Burnout (Which Most People Are)...

Then You're Going to be Dropped to 5% of Your Productivity Potential.

Not Much You Can Do.

But if We Remove Just Half of What We Worry About by Not Ruminating on Things that 97% to 99% of the Time will Either Never Happen, or We'll be Able to Handle Easily...

We will Gain Back 7 Hours per Week...

With those 7 Hours...

Perhaps We Can Resolve a Few of the Stressors We Have that are Causing Our Worries...

If We are Wise and Focus on Resolving Our Stressors at the Beginning of a Stress Chain...

Then We Will Use Less Energy, Time, and Resources to Resolve Multiple Stressors Simultaneously.

What will this Do?

Reduce Our Total Stressors...

And When Done Correctly...

It will Reduce Our Stressors Below Our Stress Threshold...

Which Gives Our Bodies the Time to Recover from Burnout.

This Recovery Could Happen Faster if We are Also Sleeping Better, due to Focusing Less on Worries Before Bed and Upon Waking.

When We Get Out of Burnout...

What Can Happen?

We can then Take those 7 Hours that We have Gained Back...

And Create Exponential Results in that Same Time Period.

How?

Flow States.

In Flow States, We Function at Our Best...

We Feel Our Best...

We Perform Better...

We Solve Problems Faster...

We are More Innovative.

Flow States are Where We Become Our Best Selves.

But Most People are Blocked from Flow States because they are Stuck in Burnout.

However...

We already Dedicated Time to Getting Out of Burnout.

The Result?

We have the Potential to become 20 Times More Productive than When We Were Stuck in Worry and Burnout.

This Means that if You Only Took Two of those Hours We Gained Back...

You Could Achieve what Used to take You 40 Hours to Complete...

And Have it Done in 2 Hours.

That May Sound Crazy, but that is what the Scientific Research Reveals as the Difference Between Someone in Burnout and Someone in Flow States.

The Result?

How Much of Your Life Do You Have Back?

Well...

You Still have 5 Hours just from Worrying Less...

And with the Remaining 2 Hours from Worrying Less, You've Finished a Week's Worth of Your Typical Workload.

Meaning You have 40 Hours of what Used to be Dedicated to Work Now Available.

Now...

You'll Probably Still have to Work a Mostly Full Schedule...

And Working is Not Inherently Bad - Really We Live Better Lives When We Work Well (With "Well" being the Key Word)...

But You'll Be Outperforming Everyone Else by Leaps and Bounds.

The Result of That?

Depends on "What" You Do, but likely it Could Very Easily Put You in a Position where You can Solve "More" of Your Stressors...

Which will Give You Less to Worry About.

Can You See How this Works?

If We Reduce Our Worries...

Not Even Eliminate Them Completely...

Especially since 97% - 99% of the Time You'll Never Face that Worry, or Overcome it Easily...

It Opens Up the Potential for So Much More of Our Lives to Be Lived Better.

It is Time to Worry Less and Live Better.
