Walking In Gratitude

Facing The Difficulties Of Life

Life can be very difficult.

I will not sugarcoat it.

It is rough.

It can beat us down.

Drag us through the mud.

Leave us exhausted, broken, and discouraged.

When life shows itself to be this way...

It can feel challenging on a day about being thankful and grateful.

Why should I give thanks?

What is there to be grateful for?

I know how this can feel...

But if this is how you are looking at everything...

Then you are missing the true treasure that exists around us.

What we focus on becomes our reality.

Focus determines reality.

If you are constantly focused on how miserable you are...

The terrible parts of your life...

The pain...

The struggles...

The fear...

Then this is what your reality becomes.

Miserable.

Terrible.

Painful.

A Struggle.

Filled with Fear.

Is this the type of life that you want to live?

For most people, the answer is no.

Now, what I am about to tell you will not prevent bad things from happening...

Life has bad events, and it is not something we can, nor should, avoid.

But what it does is allow you to see life in a different way...

Which changes how reality shapes itself around your focus.

How?

By changing your focus to gratitude...

And walking in gratitude.

I have heard versions of this from two different ancient traditions.

“...and for all things give thanks to God...” - 1 Thessalonians 5:18 JB, from the Christian Traditions.

“Amor Fati”, meaning “Love of Fate”, attributed to Friedrich Nietzsche but coming from Stoic Traditions.

Both of these traditions call for the same approach to life.

Walking in gratitude.

Finding things to love in the happenings of life.

To learn to appreciate both the highs and the lows.

No, this will not solve the problems that you are faced with...

But...

It does change your focus...

And that will reshape how you experience reality.

When you walk in gratitude...

Stressors have less impact on you...

People tend to find it easier to be around you...

You begin to see opportunity all around you.

That change of focus allows you to more clearly see the world around you...

In ways that most people will miss...

Which becomes an advantage in life.

Begin to walk in gratitude...

And it will change your life for the better.
