The Triumph Of Maintaining Your Morals
Seeing The Seeds Of Your Work Flourish Beyond You
We live in a World where things are often Not Fair.
Where we Struggle to Live within Our Morals.
The World often Tries to Convince Us that it is a Dog-Eat-Dog World...
That those Who Stand in their Integrity Lose...
And that if You want to Win then You Must be Cutthroat and Fend for Yourself.
It is a World that Often Feels Unfair, where the Unjust Appear to Thrive at the Expense of the Just.
When You are Doing Your Best...
And You Feel like You have Lost for Unjust Reasons...
It can Feel Difficult.
Extremely Difficult.
But let me Tell You...
Sometimes...
The Fruit of Maintaining Your Morals...
Does Not Appear Right Away.
But when it Does...
Sometimes, it Informs You that You're on the Right Path.
Let me tell a Story of Something that Happened with an Organization that I was Working With.
I had a Multi-Month Contract with the Organization, working with a Set of their Leaders.
Not "All" of their Leaders...
But a Significant Amount.
As we were Working Through the Challenges of the Organization...
The Groups I worked with Kept Coming to Similar Bottlenecks in Progress.
The Bottlenecks?
The Leaders that I was Not Working with.
Now, there is a Truth that I have had to Come to Accept...
You Cannot "Force" People to Grow.
They Either Choose to "Want" to Grow...
Or they Do Not.
I Always Focus on Helping Those Who Want to Grow.
So that is What I Did.
When the Leaders I worked with Struggled and were Angry and Frustrated that they Kept getting Blocked Constantly by the Bottlenecks...
I Always Encouraged them to Proceed with things in the Right Way.
Keep Documents of the Problems.
Keep Pushing to Get Results.
Focus Where You "Can" have Impact.
If Problems Continue, to Report those Problems through the Appropriate Channels.
But Above All...
Keep Maintaining Your Morals and Do What is Right.
At the End of the Contract, We Got Results for the Program...
And they were Amazing.
Far Better than I had Imagined.
I Really Thought there was a Good Chance that the Contract would Get Extended.
But It Did Not.
Now, Could I have Complained or Fought Harder to Get a Longer Contract?
Perhaps.
But, I Do Not Push Clients into Doing Business with Me.
I Did My Work...
I Kept Strong Morals...
And I Got Results.
I was Happy with what was Accomplished...
And I Knew that I Made a Difference for the Individuals I worked with.
Fast Forward in Time...
I was Given Word later on about Something Troubling.
You Know the Bottlenecks that I Mentioned?
Well, apparently, they had Actively Been Sabotaging My Efforts.
You May be Wondering Why?
Well, My Encouragement of the Leaders to...
Maintain their Morals...
Go About Everything they Did through the Proper Methods...
And Document Everything...
Led to the Poking Into Places that the Bottlenecks Did Not Want to be Poked.
So...
They Saw Me as the Individual who was Encouraging and Empowering the Leaders that I Worked With to Do the Right Thing...
You could Say I Encouraged Kicking the Hornets' Nest...
And the Bottlenecks Sabotaged My Efforts for Further Contracts.
But...
The Story Does Not End There.
Apparently, I had Laid the Seeds of Strong Morals in the Leaders who Remained...
And They Did Not Stop.
Here's the Thing...
Once You Empower People to Stand Up and Do the Right Thing...
It is Difficult to Push Them Back Down.
They Continued to Poke...
Until...
It was Discovered "Why" the Bottlenecks Did Not Want Leaders Poking in Places.
The Result...
The Bottlenecks were Discovered to Be in Cahoots Doing Things They Should Not Have Been...
They were Doing things Under the Covers that were Extremely Immoral.
They Believed they had a Stranglehold on the Organization...
And that They Could Get Away with Anything they Wanted.
But Here is the Reality...
The Truth is Always Discovered.
Period.
This is Why I am Always Telling Individuals that they "Must" Be Exemplars of their Beliefs, Morals, and Values.
If You are Not...
Your Deeds Will Be Exposed...
And if Your Deeds are Unethical...
There will be a Price to Pay.
The Individuals who were Bottlenecks...
Who Actively Sabotaged My Program...
Were Discovered.
They Paid the Price for their Misdeeds and Lack of Morals.
Now...
You May be Wondering How I Feel...
And the Truth is that there is a Bit of Anger that I have Deep within Me...
But Probably Not for the Reasons that You Think.
You Might Believe that I'd be Mad about their Sabotaging Me...
How I Lost Business Due to those Efforts...
Or Perhaps Furious about the Unkind Things and Slander they Said Behind My Back when they Never Even Experienced the Work that I Did.
But the Truth is that Those Do Not Make Me Angry.
Yes, I Lost that Business Due to their Sabotage...
But the Truth is that I have Continued to Flourish in My Business, and I've had Greater Opportunities Since.
I have Been on the Covers of Magazines...
I have Received Over 100 Awards and Nominations for My Work...
I have Incredible Clients who are Constantly Thankful for What I Help them Achieve.
I am Thankful and Blessed with a Successful Business.
Yes, they Said Unkind Things...
But I Publish a Lot of Work Online, and there are Trolls Abundant whenever You Put Yourself into the World.
I am No Stranger to Unkindness.
Yes, they Slandered My Name at that Organization.
But Everyone that I actually Worked with and Who were Diligent in their Efforts for Growth have Only Said Kind Things About Me...
And I Feel Sad for the Individuals who Slandered Me...
Because it is a Testament About Them and Their Character More than it is About Me.
So, No.
None of those things Makes Me Mad.
But What Does Make Me Mad...
Is that There Could have Been "Many" More Opportunities to Help More Individuals Grow...
People Who Wanted to Grow Faster...
Who Wanted to Create a Positive Impact...
Who Sought to Become Better...
And I am More Angry that They Had Opportunities Taken Away from Them, at No Fault of their Own.
But I can Rest Well Knowing...
That for what Time I "Did" have with those Individuals, to Sow what Seeds I Could...
They Grew Enough to Stand Up...
They Decided to Live in their Morals...
And They Succeeded in Doing What was Right.
Their Triumph is a Gift that No One can Take Away from Them.
It makes me think of a Bible Verse...
"So don’t judge anything prematurely, before the Lord comes, who will both bring to light what is hidden in darkness and reveal the intentions of the hearts. And then praise will come to each one from God." - 1 Corinthians 4:5
Sometimes...
Doing the Right Thing Does Not Immediately Pay Off.
But Do Not Judge what Occurs Too Early.
Good People and Deeds Do Get Recognized.
Bad Deeds are Discovered.
Those who are Unethical Do Pay a Price.
In the Long-Term...
Those who Maintain Their Morals and are Ethical...
Will Triumph.
So, I Encourage You Today.
Live and Maintain Your Morals.
It is Worth It.
Those Who Seek Sageship Also Cultivate Others!
