The One Phrase Most People Who Fail Say...

That Is Not True

There are many people who are seeking to achieve certain goals.

Many people seek...

But the vast majority will fail.

Now, within this...

There is one phrase that you will almost always hear people say.

What is perhaps most interesting is that what they claim is not true...

But often when people say it...

They absolutely and definitively do believe it to be true.

What is this phrase?

“I did everything right.”

Now, I’ve said this myself, so if you have said it or are thinking this right now...

You’re not alone...

And it is not exactly your fault.

I know that it is extremely frustrating to feel like you’re doing everything right...

And to be pushing yourself to get the results you desire...

But feel nowhere near the goals you have.

And it feels worse when you hear someone say the truth...

That you were not actually doing it right.

But how is it that we can be so convinced that we “are” doing everything right...

Yet not get any of the results?

The truth is...

Nearly every time...

That what you “thought” was “right” is something you learned...

Usually from someone who does not really “understand” what “right” is themselves...

Or is poor at “teaching” it.

Yes, this happens all the time.

The common target is from Influencers, which is often true...

But it is equally true of many people who are considered legitimate experts in their industries.

I see this all the time in business, diet, exercise, psychophysiology, and even the medical fields...

To name only a few.

How can this be?

Well, it is two simple reasons actually...

Complexity and human errors.

See, when many people look at how to do something...

They are looking within what is called a complex system.

What this means...

Is that there are so many more factors, variables, processes, and events that occur than any person could ever hope to keep track of.

So what do we do in the face of overwhelming complexity?

Attempt to simplify it.

That, however, is part of the problem we face.

Any time that we simplify something...

We are automatically going to miss certain aspects...

Which may be incredibly important to doing “everything” right.

For instance...

Let’s look at something like the Keto Diet.

It is a diet that consists of high fat, moderate to high protein, and low to no carbohydrates.

This is a very simple theoretical plan...

But it misses some incredibly important things.

For instance...

Are you eating enough protein compared to the amount of working out and physical activity that you are doing?

What about essential electrolytes, such as magnesium?

Are you getting enough vitamins, especially Vitamin C which is necessary for the production of our master antioxidant, ceruloplasmin?

Then, what if we consider whether the foods you are choosing are providing for your gut microbiota or actively harming them?

Or what about the amount of sleep that you are getting to allows you body to get enough recovery sleep?

Already, we are seeing that there are so many questions that the simplified “diet” that we are looking at...

Assuming that we are to believe that the diet itself is good (which I believe that the Keto Diet has many merits to it).

Within this as well...

We have many experts who talk about these complex systems...

But may fail to explain certain aspects of these systems.

For instance...

We could look at the vegetarian or vegan diets.

The theory is simple...

No animals.

But are you being taught how to get enough protein?

Or about how to get complete protein?

What about how many vegetarian/vegan products are deeply processed, and are no better for your body than getting a fast-food bacon cheeseburger?

These are things that many people do not know about and are real problems on the vegetarian and vegan diets.

The result...

Is that many people “believe” they are doing “everything” right...

But the reality is far more complex than that.

This also does not get into the deep history of organizations that skew research, hide research, and negatively influence legal policies to make things “appear” one way...

When in reality it is not true.

There is a huge problem with this within Allopathic and Western Medicine.

It also does not account for the human bias that we have...

Such as the Halo Effect Bias where we are more likely to believe someone who has success or “looks” the right way...

Or the Survivorship Bias where we only look at examples of success without looking at when the exact same factors cause failure...

Both of which I frequently see occur in business and entrepreneurship.

When you look at all of these factors combined...

It becomes impossible to say that you are doing “everything” correctly...

Because there are far more factors than you understand...

But what you can be absolutely positive of...

Is that if you are “doing everything right” according to a simplified system...

But not getting the results that you are looking for...

Then you are not doing “everything” right...

And...

The good news is that it means there is something that you’re missing.

That means there is hope to discover what it is that you need.
