The Grace To Be Human

A Struggle We Have In Today's World

I am Human.

You are Too.

We Know this, of course...

But we live in a World that is Always Pushing Forward...

Always Looking for More...

Putting Expectations on Ourselves and Others...

To Be Perfect...

To Be Faultless...

To Have Everything Always Together...

To Be So Precise and Pristine that there is Not Even a Wrinkle in Anything...

Not in Our Clothes...

Not Even on Our Skin.

We Plan So Much Each and Every Day...

And We Try to Push Ourselves to Supernatural Limits.

But the Result is Always the Same.

We Fail.

Eventually.

We Miss the Mark.

Do Not Attain the Goal.

Slip Up on the Things that We are Working Toward.

Parts of Our Lives Fall Apart.

The Wrinkles Begin to Show...

Then they Become Cracks that Grow into Crevices.

Inevitably We Find Ourselves Consumed into the Darkness of the Reality We Try to Escape.

We are Human.

There are Going to Be Days...

Weeks...

Months...

Perhaps Even Years...

Where Our Humanity will Strike Us in Unexpected Ways at Inopportune Times.

It is Never Something We Desire...

But it Will Happen.

It is a Part of Being Human.

Today I had Goals to Accomplish So Much More than I was Able...

But I am Human...

A Migraine Knocked Me Out for Most of My Day...

Still have Not Fully Recovered from it.

And...

I have to Give Myself the Grace to Be Human.

No One wants the Bad Days...

The Struggles...

The Setbacks...

The Misfortune...

The Tragedy...

But these All Will Happen at Different Points in Our Lives.

It is In Those Moments Where We Must be Compassionate with Ourselves and Our Reality.

We are Human.

Breathe.

Accept It.

Then Do What You are Able...

With What You Have Available.

So Often...

People Give Up in Life because they are Human.

But that is Not the Best Way Forward.

Why?

It is Our Humanness which Gives Life an Unforeseen Beauty.

It is Accepting that Humanness...

And Continuing Forward...

Day Be Day...

With Whatever We Have...

That We Begin to Grow and Move Beyond what People Believe Possible.

That Becomes Inspiring...

Becomes Hope...

Becomes Fuel...

Which can Ignite the Most Beautiful Aspects of Being Human.

These Days Will Come...

Give Yourself the Grace to Be Human.
