The Easiest Way To Stay Mediocre At Everything In Life
How Most Are Already There And May Never Escape
Written by a human, for humans, always.
As humans, we have an innate desire for growth...
To make something more of ourselves.
But the truth is...
Most people will not amount to much.
It is not that they fail to have the capacity...
They simply get stuck at a level of mediocrity...
And never leave.
Now, there are many reasons that this happens...
But I have found...
That there is one way in particular...
That most people fall into without realizing it...
Which keeps them mediocre at just about everything in their lives...
Usually without realizing it at all.
In fact...
They are likely already there...
And may never escape it.
What is it?
It has to do with the quality of information that they take in.
Most easily seen...
In the length of information one consumes.
See...
If you want to become better at something...
You need to obtain the right information and figure out how to use it in your life.
Now, using the information is itself a problem...
But it really does not matter if the quality of the information is poor to begin with.
For extremely high quality results...
You need extremely high-quality information and understanding.
If all you have is mediocre information...
Then all that is possible is mediocre results...
Even when you have a perfect understanding of that information.
This is the problem that most people fall into...
All of the information they get in life...
Is mediocre at best...
And completely wrong or misleading at worst.
What this means...
Is that the quality of information they take in...
Keeps them trapped in mediocrity.
This is what most people fail to understand when it comes to information...
It is really easy to disguise genius in short bursts.
Everyone can say something that sounds brilliant within a sentence.
People eat up that kind of motivation all the time...
Junk food motivation.
But what does it actually accomplish?
Nothing.
Especially in the long term.
Why?
There is no real genius in it.
Nothing that causes you to have real insights or understandings.
Nothing that can help you become better.
It is deeply mediocre.
When that is what you follow the most...
That is what you get out of your life.
Mediocrity.
This is what most people fail to understand...
Real genius...
The type of information that actually gets you to significantly higher levels...
Cannot be unpacked in a sentence...
Or even a short article.
It has multiple levels and depths that you have to understand...
With some of it being only truly understood through experience.
But so few people actually dive into anything that can provide this type of information.
They do not read long articles or books.
They do not watch long videos on a subject.
They do not listen to long discussions...
They do not take courses that require significant investments of time.
Everything they take in...
Is mediocre.
But this is what they really miss...
When you begin to seek out true genius in information...
It becomes easier to weed out fauxperts...
Faux-experts...
People who just “look” good while failing to provide anything of true value.
Why?
Because the longer someone has to go on about a subject...
The more they reveal how much they actually know.
I have seen this play out in books.
I have seen fauxperts try to expand their “ideas” into chapters...
That never ends up saying anything.
They begin to repeat the same thing over and over again...
Sometimes across multiple chapters...
Never revealing anything of worth the entire time.
That is also why those same individuals rarely write more than one book...
Because the reality of it is that they could not write the one book to begin with...
And the entirety of their mediocre fauxpertise can be fit into a paragraph...
Or less.
Real genius needs time...
It needs space...
It cannot fully be condensed into small formats.
Bits and pieces of it may be able to be condensed for the sake of expressing the idea coherently...
But the fullness of the ideas could never be expressed, let alone taught and understood...
In a short format.
People have asked me how I have written over 1,200 articles in just over 3 years (nearly 1,300 now!)...
There are multiple parts to the answer...
But an important aspect is that discussing human psychophysiology is complex.
I could never fit everything I know into one article...
Let alone a single book.
The more I learn, understand, apply, and experience...
The more there is to write about.
Does this mean that I have never written on the same subject?
No.
But every time I write about something, I have something significant to add, or a new development to what I had previously written on the subject.
I am not just rehashing the same thing said in a different way.
I am actively developing these ideas and concepts...
And that is how you get out of mediocrity.
You take in real, deep information.
You read books upon books of information.
Listen to videos and podcasts lasting dozens to hundreds of hours of information.
You take courses from the best teachers and institutions on the subjects.
You learn it to the highest levels that are available.
Then you use it and apply it.
Gain real experience with real people.
Forcing theory to either work in reality...
Or reveal itself as incompatible with reality.
Then you develop your understanding further...
Express it in the world...
Go to the edges of your industry and begin to look outside of your industry for understanding...
Then you push beyond the mediocre.
This is why so few people ever escape the mediocre...
All they allow themselves to be is consumed by mediocrity...
And they will live to regret it when they are lying on their deathbeds...
As 98% of people do.
If you want to escape the mediocrity...
You need to get the highest quality information possible...
Then...
You need to go beyond that.
