Something Most People Are Missing In Their Work

Causing People To Despise Their Careers

Most people are Miserable in their Work.

Even when they are Great at their Work and like the Type of Work they Do.

I was just recently speaking with a friend of mine, an Entrepreneur, who was telling me how they Felt that the Work they are Currently Doing is Draining.

They are Truly Excellent and Amazing at their Work, and are Making an Impact for their Clients...

Yet They have been Considering Stopping Altogether.

It is something that happens to Most People in Today’s World of Work.

There is Something Missing...

We Seek it without Knowing what “It” is.

I have watched People Go from One Job to the Next in Search of It...

But Not Finding It.

They Run into the Same Issue No Matter Where They Go.

It is this Feeling of Lack...

Deep within their Core...

Going into the Office...

Day In and Day Out...

But Feeling like the Work is Becoming a Black Hole that Eats at the Soul.

What is the Thing that So Many People are Missing?

It is Something that We have Mostly Written Off as Unimportant when it Comes to Work in Today’s World.

A Thing that is Impractical, Useless, or Senseless in Today’s Business Landscape.

It Does Not Appear to Fit into Our Society’s Understanding of “The Bottom Line”...

Yet, the Lack of this has Also Contributed to the Workplace becoming So Completely Inhospitable and Toxic.

What is this Thing?

Fun.

Enjoyment.

Yes, I Know that it Sounds Frivolous in a World that is Obsessed with Money Over Everything Else...

Including Human Wellbeing as We have Seen with the Cataclysmic Rise of Burnout...

But it is So Much More Meaningful and Important than Most People Realize.

Why?

Fun is what You Find at the Center of Community.

It is What Brings Humans Together.

Unites Us.

Bands Us Together.

Enjoyment is an Expression of Association Between Individuals that Want to Be Together.

There is an Old Expression that Exists...

“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.”

That is True of Individuals...

And it is True in Organizations as Well.

When there is No Fun in an Organization...

It makes Eveyone Dull.

This is a part of Why So Many People are Struggling in their Work.

Our Society has this Perpetual Focus on Productivity...

Do More...

Work Harder...

Never Stop...

That is How People Believe Productivity Works.

It is Why So Many Leaders have made Terrible Decisions around their Offices Pushing for More Hours...

But they Continuously Discover that More Hours Becomes Fewer Results.

It is Because Our Society today Fails to Understand How Humans Function, and How that Productivity Actually Works in Psychophysiology.

More Work and More Hours, with Less Enjoyment is Not a Recipe for Productivity.

It is a Recipe for Longing.

A Human in this Type of Environment Feels Disconnected and Detached from their Work.

Suddenly, they Fail to Feel Anything for their Work Except Discontent...

And in that Discontent, they Stop Being Able to Perform.

It is Not from a Lack of Desire to Perform, because We as Humans actually Love to Perform Well and Accomplish Goals...

But from a Psychophysiological Perspective, We Become Limited because We are Not Having Any Fun.

It is Dull.

The Work Stops Being Novel...

It Stops Igniting Our Creativity.

In the End of it All...

We No Longer have a Drive to Perform.

What So Many People Miss is that Fun and Enjoyment are Not “Nice To Have”...

They are an Essential Part of Being Human.

Yes, Work Needs to Be Done...

But Goals can be Accomplished while Having Fun in the Process.

The Key is that the Work Itself Needs to Become Fun.
