That The Vast Majority Of People Fail To See And How They Become Victims So Easily
The world is at our fingertips.
It is more connected than it has ever been.
We can learn from people across the globe...
Have conversations with people in any language...
And can access everything that we need faster than we can imagine.
Not to mention that we have AI which will serve us up information in an easy to digest manner.
If the phrase knowledge is power has meaning...
Then today’s world has made people some of the most powerful in all of history.
However...
When you believe that you are powerful...
Hubris becomes a threat...
Not because we lack power necessarily...
But rather because it becomes significantly easier to manipulate someone when they fail to see their own weaknesses...
And worse...
When they fail to understand that...
Perhaps...
They have the wrong knowledge.
This is one of the greatest threats that most people fail to recognize.
Not all knowledge is equal.
Some knowledge is powerful yes...
But some knowledge is useless...
And some knowledge is simply factually incorrect.
As the quote goes...
“It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you into trouble, it’s what you know for sure that just ain’t so.” - Mark Twain
The threat is not whether or not we have knowledge...
It is whether we have the correct knowledge...
Or if the knowledge we have gained has been purposefully manipulated...
Making us blind to reality in our own hubris...
Believing ourselves mighty...
When the truth is that we have been made pawns in someone else’s game.
I have seen this happen in so many industries...
From so many perspectives...
To the point where good people become villains in their misguided self-righteousness.
Where information that would have helped these individuals do good in the world around them...
Has been hidden and withheld in ways they do not realize...
By organizations and individuals that they have grown to believe and trust...
Causing their perspectives to become skewed.
I have watched them attack innocent individuals...
Support tyrants and people who commit the most atrocious acts...
Parroting and mimicking behaviors and phrases that are despicable...
Allowing their ideals to slip for causes they fail to identify as insidious.
If you believe that this is not you...
Then the likelihood of it being you is significantly and statistically higher...
Not on just one front...
But multiple fronts.
I have seen it happen to so many people who believed that it was not possible...
Yet it was.
One of my greatest worries for the future...
Is not that we will not find the answers to the greatest questions that we have today...
That will improve the world...
That will save lives.
No...
What worries me the most about the future...
Is that we will find the answers that are most needed...
And that others will seek to bury them...
Preventing good people from being able to find those needed solutions...
Until it is too late.
Even with all of our access to information...
So fast...
Right at our fingertips...
This is still happening.
I have seen it.
The question is not whether or not it is happening...
It is.
The question is whether enough people will come to recognize how they are being used...
And abused...
In the multitude of games that are happening around them...
And whether they will actually take the time to discover that truth of their condition...
Whether they will then go looking for the truth...
And find ways to reveal it to others.
If you are certain that you have the truth...
Verify it...
Because it is far more likely that you have been played.
