"How Far Will You Go?" Is The Wrong Question
What You Need To Ask Instead For The Goal Of Success
“How Far Will You Go?” Is The Wrong Question
What You Need To Ask Instead For The Goal Of Success
Written by a human, for humans, always.
So many people have a goal of success in their lives.
The number one question that people ask is...
How far will you go?
The answer that everyone gives is essentially the same...
All the way!
Of course, it will be in relation to whatever that goal is.
But here is the problem...
The vast majority of people...
Never reach that goal.
The reason is simple...
It is the wrong question.
Everyone knows the answer they are going to give to that question.
Everyone wants success.
But it requires more than wanting it to obtain it.
That is the problem that people face...
They do not understand what is required...
Not in theory...
In reality...
To obtain their goals.
So they start the journey...
And immediately discover the challenges they will be forced to face.
Assuming they do not give up immediately...
They continue to get hit with more and more challenges.
Which brings us to a better question...
How long will you go?
Especially without the success you seek?
See...
So many people think that they will get success quickly...
Then ride that out forever.
Both of these end up being wrong.
Most people take years...
Or decades...
To obtain the success they seek.
Are you willing to go that long?
Without success?
Without recognition?
Without the resources you hope to obtain?
Most are not.
There is nothing wrong with being honest about it.
It is better to be honest about it now...
Than it is to end up discovering it much later on.
This brings us to another important question...
How are you going to go that long?
Especially if you do not gain the resources that you hope for?
So many people...
Want to reach the goal of success so desperately...
That they run themselves into the ground.
They destroy their mental health...
Their emotional health...
Their physical health...
And they burn through their resources far too quickly and recklessly.
The result...
Is that they are unable to last.
They become incapable of going far.
Having the goal in mind is not a bad thing...
But if you are not prepared to go for the long run...
And fail to have the resources to keep going...
You will not make it.
There is another factor to consider as well...
How will you maintain your success?
So often, people believe that their first success will continue to keep them successful.
It does not.
One success does not make one successful.
For the few that make it long enough to find that first success...
Most of those will fail to find their second success...
Because they destroyed themselves and put everything into that one singular success...
Without realizing that they need more to keep going.
If you truly want to have success...
You cannot only focus on how far you want to go.
You need to be able to make it all the way...
No matter how long it takes...
Then be ready to keep going.
Longevity is a better determinant of success than excitement.
People are always excited about the end goal...
At first...
But that excitement disappears quickly.
What do you have when the excitement goes away?
Will you be able to keep going when it gets hard?
Push through when you feel hopeless?
Keep moving forward when you feel sad, depressed, anxious, or scared?
So many people are not prepared to work through the wholeness of being a human...
In pursuit of something great.
All of these are better questions to ask than how far you will go.
Knowing the goal is the easy part.
Getting there...
Staying on the path...
Accepting your humanness...
And continuing forth are the difficult parts.
