Dream Or Delusion?
The Determining Factor In Whether You Reach Your Goals
Dream Or Delusion?
The Determining Factor In Whether You Reach Your Goals
Written by a human, for humans, always.
Most people have a dream.
It is something they hold dear to them.
Close to their heart.
Sometimes deeply meaningful.
But one thing that I have noticed over the years...
Talking to people who tell me about their dreams...
Is that most of them are delusions.
I do not mean to sound harsh...
It is just the reality.
The statistics around it also reveal this to be the truth.
98% of people will be on their deathbeds...
Regretting their lives.
Regretting how they never go to those dreams...
No matter how tightly they held to that dream.
Now, to be a fair...
A portion of that percentage has people who do not take the time to create dreams for themselves, and those who have given up and lost hope...
But it still stands as a testament to how few people actually reach their goals and dreams.
But what is it that determines whether what we are holding onto is a dream or a delusion?
The answer is simple...
Are you taking action toward it?
But not just any action...
Directed and effective action.
See...
Many people do not take any action toward their dreams.
That is delusional to believe that you can do nothing and get to the goal.
Some people fall into the “someday” category here...
Where they say they will do it “eventually” in their lives...
But that doesn’t take momentum and habit into effect.
As the law of physics goes...
An object at rest stays at rest unless acted on by an outside force.
The vast majority of people in this category never start...
Simply because they lack any momentum...
And their habits keep them where they have been.
They delay their start...
Further...
And further...
Until they run out of time altogether.
Then there is another category...
Where they take actions...
But they are the wrong types of actions for the goals they want.
This includes people who continue to learn more without taking action on any of it...
Or chase trends without focusing on what they do that gets results.
If you never take actions in the right direction...
You’ll never attain the dream.
Then there is a final category...
Where they take actions...
Even in the correct direction...
But they do not do enough.
Either it is not consistent enough to build momentum...
Or it is too little to have a real impact.
Now this one can be tricky...
Because if you have followed my work...
You know that I am a big fan of having minimums.
But this is what you need to understand about the minimums...
Those are designed to create and maintain habit and momentum.
The minimums alone will not allow you to reach the heights of your dreams and goals.
You will need to go above the minimum...
Frequently.
This is where most people have trouble...
And brings us into another category.
Many people believe that you need to do maximums frequently...
And they destroy themselves in the process.
But that will not help you reach your dreams...
Worse...
Even if you do reach the dream through the process of destroying yourself...
You will lose it all in the end because of the destruction.
To believe you can live in a house that you have burned to the ground is delusional.
If you want to reach your goals and dreams...
You need to take enough action toward them...
In a way that is sustainable...
Otherwise, it is delusional.
I tell this to you...
Not to deter you...
But to encourage you to become part of the 2% who actually reach their dreams and goals...
And do not live with regret.
