Understanding The Dedication And The Fruits Of The Labor
Written by a human, for humans, always.
This is the 1,300th article that I have written in the past 1,300 days.
One article.
Written.
Edited.
Published.
Each day.
Every weekend.
Every holiday.
On vacation.
Through every weather condition.
On the perfect days.
On the days where everything goes wrong.
No matter how I have felt.
I have written an article.
Even right at this moment, I have had a migraine that has made it difficult to do anything.
But I will not be stopped unless it is by the hand of God.
What drives a person to this type of dedication?
Or perhaps it is madness?
I like to believe it is the former.
But what keeps me going?
For me, it is a need to express what I am experiencing in my heart and my soul.
That can be a variety of things once it lands on the page.
From tips and insights into human psychophysiology...
Applications and their results in my life and the lives of my clients...
To why certain business decisions are poor in today’s world, and what the consequences of those decisions will be for those businesses (with uncanny accuracy)...
As well as the struggles I face and how I work my way through them...
With some ideas that I need to test out in the world to get feedback on.
At the heart of all of this, though...
I that I know that in writing everything and publishing it all...
I am doing a part of the work that I am called to do in my life.
It is not the entirety of it...
But it is an important part.
What I continue to find in my work and in the world...
Is that we as humans are so lost.
We push ourselves so far in the hopes of attaining something we need...
But constantly we are sprinting in directions that will never provide what we seek.
We look for everything in the wrong places...
And everything we do ends up ignoring the real problems that are setting us back.
In my writing...
I seek to help some people begin to understand...
And I hope that they figure it out.
However...
I do not want to create a version of the future through rose-tinted glasses...
A version that is exaggerated and not possible to obtain.
If you really want to overcome and get real answers to the problems you experience...
You must understand that the journey is not easy.
That you will be challenged and struggle throughout the path.
That is why I am not afraid to talk about my struggles...
And perhaps it is more important to discuss them.
For others to see...
That it is not easy...
Nor should it be easy.
We live in a world that is obsessed with trying to get the greatest results in the least amount of time and the most ease...
But what I always discover...
Is that these paths are actually more harmful than people ever realize...
And eventually you go so far down that path that you discover there is a trap that becomes nearly impossible to escape.
Indeed, it is a trap...
There is a reason that the prize was dangled in front of you...
So tempting to take...
It is because the trap is designed to be so beautiful and appetizing...
That you fail to see the trap.
Often...
Even though it may not appear so at first...
It is the more difficult path which provides the greatest bounties in life.
Writing every single day has been one example of this for me.
Have there been days I have struggled to come up with any ideas?
Absolutely.
Have there been days where I would rather do anything except write?
At this moment, I would rather try to wait out this migraine instead of write.
But what has been the fruit of my writing?
Just about everything amazing thing that has happened in my career, I can trace to writing these articles.
The Hall of Fame recognition in Leadership Coaching...
The over 100+ awards and nominations for different aspects of my work...
Being on a billboard in Times Square, New York...
Gaining sponsorships for my athletic pursuits...
The Honorary Doctorate Degree in Advanced Studies in Psychology...
The opportunity to become a United Nations Representative...
Becoming a Board-Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner...
Getting recognized as a top creator on multiple platforms...
And more...
All can be traced back to making the decision to write every day.
But...
As amazing as all of these things are...
I do not write for any of that.
I would still be writing even if I had not received any of those.
I believe that those all came into my life...
Because I did not write to attain them.
What I have found with so much of life...
Is that when you are truly dedicated to something...
So deep in your heart and soul that you feel you must do something about it...
Because you are called to do it...
It becomes noticed...
And when you keep your heart and soul pure in the calling...
Much is given.
When the hard days come, and you still move forward...
When you figure out how to continue making progress toward the calling...
When people see you beaten and battered but refuse to give up...
When you stay true when others have given up...
It is recognized.
Further...
When the mission does not become compromised as a result of that recognition...
When it continues to develop, and you prove your character...
Time and time again...
It becomes undeniable.
That is why I write every day...
And will continue to do so.
To forge myself in the intense heat and pressure of life...
To stay pure and true to the ultimate goal...
To listen to the calling...
That is what life is all about.
